From the principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
Henry Lawson Festival - School Play
As part of the Henry Lawson Festival Play Day, our talented students put a hilarious twist on the classic tale of Snow White. The performance was exceptional and entailed three catchy songs that were very aligned with the Festival theme of ‘Kindness.’ We would like to thank all staff, and especially Mrs Green for all their behind the scenes work!
Thank you also to everyone who joined us for the joyful celebration of talent and teamwork!
Henry Lawson Festival - Parade
Winter well and truly greeted us at the Henry Lawson Festival this year. Thank you to the students,
parents and staff who supported this important community event. In addition to your assistance in kitting the children out in warm superhero costumes, the maypole and bright colours captured onlookers and was a great representation of the unity and kindness in our school community. We trust everyone enjoyed the spectacle of the parade.
Public Speaking Reminder
After the success of the students in the Henry Lawson Drama Day, the annual Public Speaking Competition will build upon this confidence as the children share their own ideas on the topics below:
Year 3
If animals could talk, what would they say?
Year 4
A much needed invention
Year 5
What would I do with a time machine?
Year 6
What mistakes teach us?
The children are busy writing their speeches and will be presenting them to their class on Wednesday the 2nd of July. It would be very helpful for the children to practise at home if the time permits.
Finalists will be chosen from each year group and these children will present their speeches at the “School Speak Offs” at St Joseph's on Wednesday the 30th July.
We cannot wait to hear the speeches!
Western Region Athletics
On Wednesday our students were presented with their ribbons from the School Athletics Carnival.
It was lovely to see the students congratulated for their efforts. We would like to extend a congratulations to our Age Champions -

The next School Community Council is scheduled for this coming Wednesday at 5:00 pm in the Library. All parents and carers are invited to attend this meeting. The focus of the meeting will be to discuss upcoming events. We hope to see you there!
Andrew Chinn Concert
What a treat! Last Friday we had the renowned Andrew Chinn visit and work with a group of interested choir students in which were then part of a whole school performance in the Library. Andrew sang many uplifting songs and had students, teachers and parents on the edge of their seats. We thank Andrew for visiting us, and all parents who were able to join us!

Assembly
Next Friday (20th June) at 2:40pm we will have our usual
school assembly in the library. However, this assembly is going to be a little different as it will be run by our wonderful K/1 children. Where they will be presenting some of their class work and performing a special song. All community members are welcome to come along.
Welcome Alexander Brown
Congratulations to the Brown family on the safe arrival of their new addition, Alexander. Archer is a proud big sister. We hope Alexander is settling into family life well!
